Biography

“I love what I do. My goal is to take care of my patients to help them feel better and live a healthy life. It gives me a sense of fulfillment when I see them transitioned to an adult care provider in the best health.”

Dr. Gopalareddy is board certified in general pediatrics, pediatric gastroenterology and transplant hepatology. She specializes in liver transplantation and post-transplant care, biliary atresia, Fontan associated liver disease (FALD), cystic fibrosis, autoimmune hepatitis (AIH), primary sclerosing cholangitis (PSC), Wilson's disease, Alagille syndrome, hepatitis C and B, fatty liver disease, and neonatal, metabolic and cholestatic liver disorders.

She serves as associate professor of the Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition at Atrium Health’s Levine Children’s Hospital and medical director of the Pediatric Hepatology and Liver Transplant Program. Dr. Gopalareddy also serves on various committees, including the Pediatric Solid Organ Transplant Quality, Pediatric Liver Transplant Selection and Transplant Steering, Pediatric Joint Practice and EPIC EMR Committees.

She’s been recognized as a Top Doctor by Charlotte magazine and Castle Connolly. She is 1 of only a handful pediatric transplant hepatology board-certified doctors in North Carolina.

Dr. Gopalareddy’s current research is titled, “Studies in Pediatric Liver Transplantation (SPLIT) Registry HBV Drug Trials.”

She received her medical degree at Bangalore University and completed residencies at Morristown Memorial Hospital and Lokmanya Tilak Municipal General Hospital and Medical College. Dr. Gopalareddy completed a fellowship at Thomas Jefferson University.

Outside of work, she loves spending time with her husband and 2 sons. She enjoys traveling, gardening, walking and enjoying nature. Dr. Gopalareddy does yoga and meditation to de-stress, and she enjoys cooking Indian food.
