Children with congenital heart disease and their families are incredibly resilient, but the cardiac intensive care unit can often be an overwhelming place. Being trusted to care for these children and help families navigate some of their most difficult hours is an incredible privilege.
I am board certified in pediatrics and pediatric cardiology. My clinical interest is in pediatric cardiac critical care, including heart disease and heart failure. I’m a clinical instructor in the Atrium Health Levine Children’s Hospital Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit.
I was drawn to my specialty because I find the complex physiology of congenital heart disease fascinating, and I feel working with children and their families is especially rewarding. I’ve also been involved in quality improvement research with the Pediatric Cardiac Critical Care Consortium (PC4).
I received my medical degree at the Medical University of South Carolina and completed residency in pediatrics at the University of Virginia. I completed fellowships in pediatric cardiology and pediatric cardiac critical care at the Medical University of South Carolina.
Away from work, I enjoy spending time with my wife, two children and our dog. I’m also an avid runner and love being outdoors at the beach or hiking in the mountains.
