Statistician - Lead
Since 2012, William Anderson has worked as a biostatistician with Atrium Health. At the Center for Outcomes Research & Evaluation (CORE), he currently collaborates with clinical investigators at Atrium Health, providing statistical support and assisting at all stages of the research process from study design and data analysis to presentation and publication. He has lectured on various statistical topics and has co-authored over 30 peer-reviewed journal publications and numerous abstracts.

Whitney Rossman, MS, PMP
Manager, Research Operations
Prior to joining CORE in 2014, Whitney Rossman was a senior research analyst at Atrium Health. She also worked with the hepatology research team and as a project manager in the research administration department. Currently at CORE, she engages with physicians and healthcare leaders to plan, develop and execute strategic projects and programs. With her skills and interest in grant writing, she supports many federal, foundational and industry sponsored grant applications and awards. She co-leads the CORE Summer Internship program and supports CORE strategic initiatives. In 2016, she earned her Project Management Professional certification.

Tim Hetherington, MS
Manager - Application Specialist
Before joining CORE in 2017, Tim Hetherington began his career in the home improvement industry working on an omnichannel analytics team. Currently at CORE, he is responsible for leading the data management team, which provides services for research projects varying in scope. A notable contribution is his support for a project investigating a standardized care plan for patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

C. Allan Bond, PMP
Application Specialist, Team Lead
Allan Bond has a computer science degree from North Carolina State University and is a certified project management professional. At Atrium Health, he has used his extensive background in software engineering to lead efforts to develop cost analytics visualization and data warehouse solutions, which standardized the calculation and presentation of healthcare cost metrics across all clinical optimization service lines. Allan is now a member of the data management team within CORE, which provides services for research projects varying in scope.

Ryan Burns, MS
Project Manager
Prior to joining CORE in 2016, Ryan Burns was a program development assistant at the Latin American Coalition. As a project manager at CORE, he has led multisite trials, clinical outcome studies and quality improvement initiatives. Major projects include the Carolinas HealthCare Outpatient Antimicrobial Stewardship Empowerment Network and the Migraine-IMPACT study. Ryan also serves as the lead SharePoint architect within CORE.

C. Danielle Connor, MPH
Associate Health Services Researcher
Danielle Connor has contributed to CORE projects for multiple research areas, such as implementation of clinical navigation pathways, use of clinical communication tools and antibiotic stewardship. Her current research interests include health disparities in access to care, survey-based research and mixed-methods research.

Senior Application Specialist
Bella Gutnik is an information technology professional with a broad background in data management. At CORE, she has supported multiple studies, including utilizing virtual care to improve the experience of postoperative patients, using virtual navigation to reduce behavioral health admissions from rural emergency departments, and evaluating virtual behavioral health integration into primary care.

Prior to joining CORE in 2020, Anna Harris coordinated clinical and academic gerontology-related research. Currently at CORE, she builds and manages REDCap databases and provides data management support for a range of projects.

Lauren Lu
Data Developer - Senior
Prior to joining CORE in 2019, Lauren Lu was an oncology research coordinator who worked with the Center for Biostatistics team at Levine Cancer Institute. She designed the thoracic department’s lung REDCap registry database for a large-scale oncology patient population. Currently at CORE, she continues to develop and manage REDCap databases, as well as providing data management support.

Pooja Palmer, MS, CCRP
Project Manager
Pooja Palmer has been with Atrium Health since 2014. Prior to joining CORE, she was an oncology research coordinator with the biostatistics team at Levine Cancer Institute. In 2019, she joined CORE and her studies include “Virtual Navigation Intervention to Reduce Behavioral Health Admissions from Rural Emergency Departments (VIBRANT)” and a partnership study with Janssen investigating the impact of paliperidone palmitate on clinical and economic outcomes in patients with schizophrenia. Pooja has also managed an innovative risk modeling project examining the impact on outcomes for prostate cancer patients and a large, multi-phased study using process intervention and risk modeling to make early transfer decisions for the care of emergency general surgery patients. She is Six Sigma Green Belt certified and a certified clinical research professional within the Society of Clinical Research Associates.

Dawn Parks
Administrative Assistant
Before joining CORE in 2019, Dawn Parks spent much of her career in the telecommunications and manufacturing industries as an executive assistant, manager and corporate trainer. At CORE, she organizes the team by scheduling multi-team meetings, candidate and internship candidates and CORE Grand Rounds. Dawn also runs business reports, processes financial documents and assists the project management team with critical documentation tasks, including the creation of electronic forms to streamline team communications.

Aparna Rajwani, MS HIAN
Application Specialist- Intermediate
Aparna holds MS in Health Informatics and Analytics degree from University of North Carolina, at Charlotte. She is also a licensed Physical Therapist. Her technical experience includes EMR implementation as well as data analysis of large healthcare data. Her recent research work is related to finding effects of various sociodemographic factors on COVID-19 infections and deaths in Carolinas. At CORE, Aparna is involved with sourcing and analyzing data from EDW for various clinical studies.

Casey Stephens, MPH
Health Services Researcher - Associate
Casey Stephens joined CORE in 2017. At CORE, she developed and managed numerous databases including the infective endocarditis study, dental practice-based research network (DPBRN) survey, “Integrating a Disease-Specific Migraine App into the Management of Patients in the Primary Care Setting (Migraine-IMPACT)” study and other numerous smaller projects. She also performs statistical work for faculty projects involving psychometric surveys.
