Research Coordinators

Clinical research coordinators (CRC) are an integral part of the research team. Coordinators are both nurse and non-nursing personnel who are responsible for the day-to-day conduct of the research study and ensure that research is conducted in compliance with the study protocol as well as federal, state and institutional guidelines and regulations.

CRC careers at Atrium Health are available within specific specialty departments, or coordinators may choose a career in the Research Study Coordinator Float Pool.

Research Study Coordinator Float Pool

The study coordinator team within the Office of Clinical and Translational Research (OCTR) employs both registered nurse and non-nurse clinical research coordinators who are placed in various departments across Atrium Health based on study needs.

Advantages to using the research study coordinator float pool include:

  • Flexibility: Study coordinators can be hired part time to cover short-term needs for projects that do not require full-time employees
  • Availability: Study coordinators are typically available immediately, saving the time and effort needed for job posting, recruiting and hiring permanent staff, which can take two to three months
  • High quality: Adaptable and experienced in different disciplines, study coordinators have the appropriate credentials and understand the research environment and regulatory procedures
  • No administrative hassle: All human resource, management and credentialing requirements are handled and maintained by the OCTR team
