You may not think of carrots when you want something smooth and satisfying to sip, but don’t overlook this blender-friendly vegetable. Flavorful, sweet and (sometimes) crunchy, carrots can improve vision and skin health, and they have some noteworthy anti-aging and cancer-fighting properties.

Ingredients:
- 3 to 4 medium size carrots
- 1 orange - ½ teaspoon of grated peel
- 1 cup of orange juice (optional, add to your liking)
- 1 cup of ice
Directions:
- Take 1 cup of clean sliced carrots. Put them in a small pan with enough water to cover.
- Boil for 15 minutes until tender.
- Once tender, drain and cool the carrots.
- Put them in a food blender – add a few more ingredients before blending.
- Add ½ teaspoon of grated orange peel.
- Add 1 cup of orange juice (pulp or no pulp).
- Add 1 cup of ice.
- Now blend all together until smooth.
