S.O.S Connections (Survivors Offering Supportive Connections)
Description
The Cancer Patient Support Program at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist would like to announce S.O.S Connections (Survivors Offering Supportive Connections), a new peer support program! The program will match breast, gynecological, blood, and thoracic cancer survivors who are at least six months post treatment (or stable if metastatic) with patients who are currently undergoing treatment. Volunteer survivors (“mentors”) and patient participants (“mentees”) can opt to engage in either a one-time connection or an ongoing connection of at least three interactions within three months. The program will be expanded to include additional cancer types in the future.
Breast, gynecological, blood, and thoracic cancer survivors are needed! Please contact Holly Hallman, MSW, LCSW at holly.hallman@advocatehealth.org or 336-713-6921 if you have questions about the program or are interested in participating
