With nearly 100 peer-reviewed research publications to his name, Dr. Kirshbom has spent his career advancing pediatric heart care. At Levine Children’s Hospital, he oversees all congenital heart surgery on newborns, children and adults with congenital heart defects and supervises quality and research efforts. Before joining Atrium Health, he was the first chief to hold that title at both Yale-New Haven Children’s Hospital and Connecticut Children’s Medical Center in Hartford. Dr. Kirshbom also served in senior leadership positions at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and held academic appointments at Yale University School of Medicine and Emory University School of Medicine.
