Unsure if you should go to the emergency department? Have a secure video visit with an emergency medicine specialist to help you decide if you need to be seen in person. Available for new and existing patients in NC, age 2 and older.
- If you are advised to go to an emergency department and seek care at an Atrium Health facility, there's no charge for the video visit. Self-pay patients receive a discount for the in-person visit.
- If you are treated during the video visit, no payment is collected at time of service. An insurance claim will be filed for patients with health plan coverage, and any post-insurance charges will be billed to the patient. Self-pay patients will receive a bill.

Atrium Health Cleveland Emergency Department provides 24-hour emergency medical services to Cleveland County and surrounding communities. From broken bones and severe cuts to heart attacks and strokes, we are prepared to provide patients of all ages the highest level of emergency care. Our expert staff includes physicians who are board-certified in emergency medicine.
- Level III trauma center: Patients get 24-hour coverage by emergency medicine physicians and resources for resuscitation, surgery and intensive care for trauma patients
- Chest pain center: Patients can be assured our staff has demonstrated expertise and commitment to quality that meets or exceeds stringent criteria
- Treatment rooms, including one designated as a trauma/resuscitation room
- Private observation rooms for monitoring
- Physicians board-certified in emergency medicine
- Emergency-trained staff to treat urgent and emergency situations
- On-call medical specialists available for consultation
- A full range of laboratory services
- An array of advanced diagnostic imaging services, including the most up-to-date CT scanner, digital X-ray and ultrasound
- Bedside registration for convenience and privacy
- Bedside delivery of prescriptions prior to departure
- Emergency transportation by ambulance for critically ill or injured patients
