Raising a child comes with its challenges, but there are resources available to assist. There are multiple local and state resources that have goals of helping families by providing them with the needed resources and education for their children. Locally, Mecklenburg County has plenty of educational resources such as the MECK Pre-K that provides free pre-k education for eligible 4-year-olds.

Another resource, READY4K, is a text-messaging resource specifically for primary caregivers as they navigate the first five years of their child’s life. PARENT POWERED sends parents research-based texts that include tips and ideas to help both you and your child.

Other resources such as Forward Charlotte have a mission to provide educational and mentoring opportunities through their different programming efforts. Additional Mecklenburg County-specific programming includes the MeckBetter campaign which aims at supporting the well-being and safety of children and supporting families.
