Carolinas HealthCare System’s Levine Cancer Institute has put together a world-class team of physicians focused on using the latest technologies in the diagnosis and treatment of bladder cancer. Our team of physicians meets regularly to discuss every patient's care and to develop comprehensive and unique treatment plans.

Bladder Cancer Diagnosis

In most cases, multiple tests will be used to diagnose bladder cancer. After taking a complete medical history and performing a physical exam, your doctor may order:

  • Urinalysis
  • Urine cytology
  • Cystoscopy
  • Various tests that detect cancer-associated substances in your urine

Bladder Cancer Treatment

Our physicians have years of experience and expertise in selecting the appropriate treatment regimen for bladder cancer. The type of treatment you receive depends on how aggressive the cancer is and its stage.

Typically, there are four paths of treatment:

  • Surgery
  • Radiation therapy
  • Immunotherapy
  • Chemotherapy

Clinical trials may also be an option. View our current clinical trials.
