When you’re diagnosed with breast cancer at age 45 or younger, you face unique challenges as you balance cancer treatment with relationships, raising a family, careers and education.
At Atrium Health Levine Cancer, we know how important it is to feel supported on this journey. That’s why we started the Sandra Levine Young Women’s Breast Cancer Program. Through this program, we can connect you to resources, experts and other women like you to ensure you never feel like you’re facing cancer alone.
We’re proud to say that our program – which is one of only a few of its kind nationwide, and the only one located in the Southeast – has already helped hundreds of women. Here’s what you can expect when you join us.
The Sandra Levine Young Women's Breast Cancer Program provides support and education to breast cancer patients, ages 18-45, receiving treatment at Atrium Health Levine Cancer:
Our resources can help you cope with cancer and keep you feeling your best. Through the Young Women’s Breast Cancer Program, you have access to support programs that are tailored to your unique needs, including:
A Young Women’s Support Group, which gives young women with breast cancer the opportunity to meet and talk with others who will understand in a safe, encouraging environment. We cover everything from concerns about body image and intimacy to coping with feelings of grief and loss. This group meets monthly and is led by a licensed clinical social worker.
Mind-Body-Spirit Connection, a quarterly speaker series that invites health and wellness experts to speak on topics that matter to young women with breast cancer, like mindfulness, brain fog, supplement use, heart health and more.
A Peer Matching Program, which matches program participants with others who are close in age, diagnosis and/or treatment. This gives you the chance to form friendships, feel supported and inspire others who are on a similar path.
Social and networking events that allow you to build community as you navigate your diagnosis, treatment and recovery.
A monthly e-calendar of group meetings, classes and special events available for you at Levine Cancer. View the calendar and register for events.
