Mobile Integrated Health Visits
Our Mobile Integrated Health (MIH) program offers a variety of visit options to meet the needs and preferences of patients and providers.
- Paramedic visit: A paramedic will call you 30 minutes before their arrival. During the visit, a comprehensive medical assessment is performed, which includes a vital-signs check, medication review, lab analysis (if required), safety assessment, condition-related education, and treatments as needed, such as administrating medication.
- Virtual visit: A paramedic will call you 30 minutes before their arrival. During the visit, a comprehensive medical assessment is performed, which includes a vital-signs check, medication review, lab analysis (if required), safety assessment, condition-related education, and treatments as needed, such as administrating medication. We then help the patient virtually connect with their health care provider at the scheduled time, allowing for the completion of the virtual visit.
- Home assessment: Before you’re discharged from an Atrium Health hospital or facility, a member of our team can provide a safety home assessment, checking for wheelchair accessibility, ensuring the availability of proper power sources for durable medical equipment and more.
- Butterfly ultrasounds
- Cardiac monitors with 12-lead transmitting capabilities
- Infusion pumps
- Intravenous supplies, including port/PICC line access (short-term delivery of IV medications)
- Laboratory blood work supplies for analysis at Atrium Health’s laboratory department
- Medications, including:
- cardiac medications
- Antiemetics
- Antibiotics
- Steroids
- Nebulizing medications
- IV fluids
- PO medications (oral medications)
- Messaging platform for secure and real-time communication
- Oxygen therapy
- Point-of-care PT/INR machines (measures blood clotting time)
- Vital sign equipment, including:
- Blood pressure cuffs
- Stethoscopes
- Pulse oximeters
- Thermometers
- Point-of-care blood glucometers
- Scales for weight monitoring
- Virtual equipment
- Virtual stethoscope
- Wound care supplies

Who we serve
Our MIH program offers in-home care to patients throughout North and South Carolina. The program is designed to serve pre-identified patients who would benefit from in-home care, using specialized screening software.
These patients are approached and given the option to participate in the MIH program before they are discharged from Atrium Health hospitals or facilities. Typically, patients in the program receive 4 visits over 4 weeks from our MIH team. However, the frequency of visits may vary based on the specific needs of each patient.
