“Building relationships with families and helping young people grow into their best selves is fun and rewarding. Pediatrics specifically drew me in because of the joy and general humor of children, as well as the kindness of most people who choose to go into this field.”
Dr. Werner is board certified in pediatrics and has specialized in pediatric hospital medicine and general pediatrics. She is an assistant professor at Atrium Health’s Levine Children’s Hospital and Levine Children’s Jeff Gordon's Children's Center.
Dr. Werner was drawn to pursue medicine because she enjoys the combination of interpersonal relationships and scientific inquiry.
She received her undergraduate degree in neuroscience at the University of Virginia and her medical degree at Eastern Virginia Medical School. She completed residency at Levine Children’s Hospital.
Outside of work, Dr. Werner and her husband, Josh, enjoy spending time with their daughter traveling to the mountains and going for bike rides. They love trying new restaurants and attempting new recipes at home. She’s a big history, sci-fi and fantasy fan and loves movies.
