Biography
“I chose OB/GYN because it was one of the few rotations in my medical school I truly enjoyed and could see myself wanting to do every day for the rest of my life. Now, years later, I still wake up every morning with purpose and happiness knowing how blessed I am to be allowed to care for women and their babies.”
Dr. Ventura-Braswell is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology (OB/GYN). She specializes in prenatal care, including individual and centering group care, abnormal uterine bleeding, minimally invasive gynecology, menopause and contraceptive care.
She is the medical director of the Atrium Health Myers Park OB/GYN Clinic.
Dr. Ventura-Braswell has received several awards, including the National Faculty Award from the Council on Resident Education Obstetrics and Gynecology (CREOG) and The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG).
Additionally, she received the Outstanding Faculty Teaching Award from the Duke University OB/GYN Residency Program for multiple years, Educator of the Year from the Cape Fear Valley Medical Center and Community Preceptor of the Year from the Southern Regional AHEC Family Medicine Center for multiple years.
Dr. Ventura-Braswell received a master’s degree in business administration at Methodist University and a medical degree at the University of Miami. She completed a residency at Brooke Army Medical Center. She is a fellow of The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.
