Biography
Chronic illness can affect how a child feels, functions and views themselves. I believe every child deserves a space where they feel understood and their strengths are recognized. My goal is to help kids and families build coping skills and sustainable habits that support them through the stress, uncertainty and daily challenges of chronic illness and pain.
I’m a licensed clinical psychologist who specializes in pediatric psychology. I provide behavioral health care for children and teens with chronic illnesses and complex medical needs. Currently, my primary clinical focus areas include chronic pain and cystic fibrosis.
I’m driven by my belief that chronic illness impacts every part of a child’s life – emotional, social and physical. I strive to provide a safe space where patients can explore stressors, learn strategies to manage symptoms and regain confidence in school, activities and daily routines. I use a collaborative, patient-centered approach that honors each child’s unique needs and environment. I feel grateful for the chance to offer individualized support, advocacy and evidence-based care to patients and their families.
I earned my degree in clinical psychology from The University of Tennessee. I completed residency in pediatric psychology at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. I completed a fellowship in pediatric psychology at Atrium Health Levine Children’s Hospital.
I have extensive experience supporting patients across many medical specialties in inpatient consultation and liaison, outpatient and intensive outpatient programs, and interdisciplinary medical clinic settings. I currently contribute to program development focused on expanding support for children with chronic pain. I also enjoy supervising doctoral trainees and providing education to families and medical teams about pediatric pain psychology.
Outside of work, I enjoy exploring new restaurants, attending concerts and traveling to visit family and friends around the country.
I look forward to supporting children and families as they navigate their health journeys.
