Dr. Aleona Zuzek is board certified in internal medicine and endocrinology (glandular diseases and disorders). She focuses on endocrinology.
She was drawn to this specialty because she enjoys the challenge of diagnosing what can be non-specific symptoms that affect multiple organ systems. The field requires complex problem-solving for diagnoses, and Dr. Zuzek values the opportunities to provide continuity of patient care and multidisciplinary collaborations with other doctors and specialists.
She received a New Investigator Award from the Ohio River Region Society of Endocrinology and a Gold Foundation Humanism and Excellence in Teaching Award at Case Western Reserve University and University Hospitals.
Dr. Zuzek received her medical degree at Drexel University College of Medicine. She completed residency in internal medicine at Case Western Reserve University and University Hospitals, followed by a fellowship in endocrinology at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.
Outside of work, she enjoys spending her leisure time with her family. She especially likes cooking, traveling and interior design.
