Alexa Rivera is a board-certified family nurse practitioner. Her clinical interests are in family practice, primary care, preventive care, and acute and chronic conditions across the lifespan.
Rivera was the main author of a health care quality improvement project titled, "Text Messaging to Improve Medication Adherence: Hypertension Management in Primary Care,” which was submitted to the Journal of Doctoral Nursing Practice.
She received her master’s and doctorate degrees in nursing at Duke University.
In her free time, Rivera enjoys cooking and creating new recipes, caring for her many plants, organizing, bingeing her favorite TV shows, hiking with her husband and spending time with family.
