“My goal is to be a lifelong learner and use my knowledge to provide medical care that reflects compassion and excellence to all my patients and their families.”
Oakes is a board-certified physician assistant. She specializes in vascular surgery and conditions that affect the arteries, veins and blood vessels. Her clinical interests include peripheral artery disease, carotid artery disease, abdominal aortic aneurysms and hemodialysis access for patients with kidney disease.
She was inspired from an early age to study medicine. Oakes' mother was a nurse and passed down her strong interest in cardiovascular disease as well as her passion for this patient population. It was during Oakes’ medical school rotations that she became passionate about surgery.
Oakes completed her physician assistant training at East Carolina University, where she was named Physician Assistant Student of the Year.
In her free time, she loves visiting the beach and the mountains. She enjoys hiking with her fiancé and dog. She also likes baking cookies and cupcakes for her friends and family.
