Treats only Children
“Chronic illness affects every aspect of someone's life, and my goal is to help youth build the skills they need to cope with challenging situations.”
Dr. Roak is a licensed clinical psychologist. She specializes in pediatric gastroenterology and hepatology for children and teens with digestive disorders, including inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and disorders of gut-brain interaction (DGBI).
Her desire to help children and teens manage chronic pain and other symptoms drew her to study GI psychology, the brain-gut connection and psychological interventions.
Dr. Roak received her PhD at The University of Alabama at Birmingham. She completed residency at Nemours Children's Hospital and a fellowship at Atrium Health Levine Children's Hospital.
In her free time, she enjoys traveling, exploring new restaurants and trying out recipes with her husband. She likes mystery novels, yoga and practicing mindfulness.
