“As a hospital epidemiologist on the infection prevention team, I hope to use my experience and knowledge to thoughtfully treat patients at the bedside and improve health outcomes for our population.”
Dr. Anahita Mostaghim is board certified in internal medicine and infectious disease. She has a clinical interest in epidemiology and outcomes of infectious diseases. She focuses on caring for critically ill patients in the hospital and treating hospital-acquired infections, multidrug-resistant infections and immunocompromised patients.
From a young age, Dr. Mostaghim has been fascinated by infectious diseases and how such small organisms can cause devastating effects. The mystery surrounding new, unknown diseases and the rapid developments in understanding the immune system drew her to medical school.
Dr. Mostaghim received her medical degree at Eastern Virginia Medical School and completed residency in internal medicine at Boston University. Dr. Mostaghim completed a fellowship in critical care medicine at the National Institutes of Health and a fellowship in infectious diseases at the University of Washington.
In her free time, she enjoys baking, cooking, playing soccer, traveling and learning about other cultures.
