Biography
“Obesity has a direct correlation to metabolic diseases that negatively impact quality of life. Bariatric surgery can give our patients the chance to decrease the number of metabolic problems they may have, leading to happier, healthier lives.”
Pareja is a board-certified physician assistant. She specializes in weight management and bariatric surgery and is the advanced practice provider (APP) for the weight management program at Atrium Health Cabarrus and Atrium Health Mercy, a facility of Carolinas Medical Center, and the surrounding weight management offices. She is fluent in both English and Spanish and strives to make a difference in the health and lives of the Spanish-speaking community she serves.
She completed her undergraduate degree at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and her physician assistant training at Nova Southeastern University.
Outside of work, Pareja enjoys spending time with her 2 dogs, family and friends. She loves watching documentaries and true crime shows.
