Biography

Caring for children is what drew me to medicine from the start. I have always been inspired by how resilient kids are and how much potential they have. I love working with children because of their humor and the joy they bring to each visit—no two days are ever the same. Along the way, I spent several years as a high school science teacher, which deepened my love of teaching and connecting with young people. As a pediatrician, I feel lucky to help keep children healthy so they can grow, learn and chase their dreams, while building habits that support a lifetime of health.

My goal is to help children and families feel comfortable and confident coming to clinic. I want each child to feel proud of who they are and excited about their future. I hope families leave visits feeling supported and ready to care for their child’s health.

I believe in partnering with families to make decisions together. I take time to listen, answer questions and tailor care to each child. I focus on evidence-based care, using the best available research to guide decisions while also respecting each family’s goals and values. You can expect a warm, welcoming visit where your concerns are heard and your child is at the center of care.

I am originally from North Carolina and feel proud to care for families in the same community where I trained. I attended Wake Forest University for my undergraduate education and the University of North Carolina for medical school. I completed my pediatric residency at Atrium Health and was honored to stay on as faculty.

I am a board-certified pediatrician with a special interest in newborn and early childhood care. I enjoy helping families navigate the early stages of life and watching children grow and thrive.

A large part of my role is in academic medicine. I work closely with pediatric residents and medical students each day, both in clinic and through teaching. I enjoy mentoring future physicians and helping them build the skills and confidence needed to care for children with compassion and high-quality, evidence-based care.

Outside of work, I love spending time with my husband and our three kids. We enjoy exploring, having dance parties, and finding ways to be silly together. With multiple sports in the mix, we stay busy and spend a lot of time cheering from the sidelines.

I look forward to getting to know you and your family.
