Anna Catherine Raines, MD

Dr. Anna Raines practices obstetrics and gynecology (OB/GYN). She focuses on general gynecology, contraception, routine prenatal care and postpartum care.

She was drawn to OB/GYN because of the opportunities to create meaningful, long-lasting relationships with patients throughout their lifespans. She enjoys combining surgery and medicine with the unique emotional component of the specialty to take the best possible care of her patients.

She has received an Excellence in Minimally Invasive Surgery Award from the Society of Laparoscopic and Robotic Surgeons, a Colposcopy Award from the American Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology (ASCCP), an Excellence in Medical Student Teaching Award at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine and a Resident Teamwork Award at Atrium Health. She is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.

Dr. Raines received her bachelor’s degrees in biology and psychology at the University of Georgia and her medical degree at the Medical College of Georgia. She completed residency in OB/GYN at Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center, where she served as administrative chief resident.

She spends most of her time outside of work with her husband, friends and family. Dr. Raines also likes exercising, traveling and cooking, especially Italian food.
