Dr. Kaul is board certified in family medicine with a specialty in urgent and emergent care and common medical needs during hospitalization. He has clinical interests in outpatient medical procedures, pre-hospital care and wilderness medicine.
He has conducted research on the topic of virtual visit evaluation of primary care during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Society of Teachers of Family Medicine honored Dr. Kaul with the Resident Teacher Award with a Global Health Area of Concentration.
He received his undergraduate degrees in neuroscience and biochemistry and his medical degree at East Carolina University. He received his master’s degree in public health at the University of North Carolina and completed residency at Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center.
When not working, Dr. Kaul enjoys spending time with his wife and their puppy, Kiran. He enjoys road and mountain biking, hiking, running and reading New York Times bestsellers. He likes to stay active in his community.
