Biography

“Each OB/GYN patient has her own personal history and unique perspective that she brings into the office or hospital when seeking medical or surgical care. Meeting my patients physically and emotionally where they are most comfortable is my primary goal when caring for them. It is my intention to give each of my patients the time and attention I would expect for myself and my family members from a health care provider while keeping in mind their wishes and own understanding of their health and well-being.”

Dr. Stein is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology (OB/GYN). She sees women of all ages, from adolescence through menopause, and specializes in contraception, hormone replacement therapy, pregnancy planning, prenatal care and pap smear management. She offers minimally invasive surgical treatments for menstrual irregularities including endometrial ablation, hysteroscopy, radiofrequency treatment for fibroids and laparoscopic hysterectomy.

According to The North American Menopause Society (NAMS), Dr. Stein is the only Atrium Health MD within 15 miles of the Charlotte metro area that is listed as NAMS certified. She has been named a Top Doctor by Charlotte magazine multiple times since joining Atrium Health in 2005. She is a Fellow of The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (FACOG) and a Diplomate of the American Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology (ABOG).

Dr. Stein received her medical degree at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, formerly known as the Mount Sinai School of Medicine. She completed residency in OB/GYN at Hartford Hospital and went on to join the Harvard Women’s Health faculty at Massachusetts General Hospital before moving to Charlotte.

Outside of work, Dr. Stein makes spending time and staying connected with her 3 growing children a priority. Cheering them on at their sporting events and finding time to laugh over dinner together after school is tremendously gratifying and meaningful. She encourages them to join her commitment to volunteerism and support local organizations like Kids First of the Carolinas and the Isabella Santos Foundation and to not underestimate the impact simple acts of kindness may have on another person in our community.
