Biography

“I want patients to feel comfortable in sharing their emotional and physical concerns in a non-threatening and non-judgmental environment. I always hope to play a supportive role in a patient's well-being. By incorporating a team approach and providing care with evidence-based healthcare guidelines, I hope to assist patients in making the healthiest lifestyle choices.”

She specializes in primary and preventive care for newborns through adults, hypertension, diabetes, obesity and depression.

She was named a Top Doctor by Charlotte Magazine and Castle Connolly.

Dr. Meyer was originally going to become a pediatrician but realized after several rotations in all areas of medicine that she enjoyed adult medicine as much as pediatrics. Seeing a variety of ages, genders and health issues throughout the day makes every encounter interesting and unique for her.

She received her medical degree at Eastern Virginia Medical School and completed a residency at Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center.

Outside of work, she loves spending time with her husband, Tom, and 3 sons, Jake, Sam and Ben, and their labrador, Fred. She enjoys long-distance running and has run several half marathons. Dr. Meyer also loves traveling, photography, reading and weekly volunteering as a classroom assistant in an inner-city elementary school.
