Dr. Baruh Bruck Mulat is board certified in internal medicine. He focuses on gastroenterology.
He finds motivation from the potential to significantly improve quality of life for patients who suffer from common diseases. He values the opportunities to focus on cancer prevention.
He treats a wide array of gastrointestinal conditions, including disorders of the esophagus, such as eosinophilic esophagitis (an inflammatory condition), Barrett's esophagus, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and esophageal strictures. Additionally, he treats stomach disorders, such as peptic ulcer disease, and liver and pancreatic disorders. Dr. Mulat is skilled in treating colon-related and inflammatory conditions, including inflammatory bowel disease, ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease. He emphasizes the use of colonoscopies for the prevention of colorectal cancer and the treatment of colonic polyps.
In recognition of his compassion for patients’ needs, clinical acumen, skill and rapport with fellow professionals, Dr. Mulat received the Outstanding House Officer Award from the Montefiore Medical Center Staff and Alumni Association.
Dr. Mulat received his medical degree at Tel Aviv University in Israel. He completed residency in internal medicine and was chief resident at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, where he also completed a fellowship in gastroenterology.
Outside of work, he loves spending quality time with his family, including 3 boys. They enjoy a variety of outdoor and water activities while exploring nature, such as hiking and kayaking. Dr. Mulat won several table tennis trophies in his youth and still likes playing. Recently, he’s taken up pickleball and tennis.
