Dr. Hu is board certified in internal medicine, hematology and medical oncology (cancer and blood disorders). She has clinical interests in lymphoma/CLL (chronic lymphocytic leukemia) and cellular therapies, such as autologous stem cell transplant, chimeric antigen receptor T-cell (CAR-T cell) therapy and allogeneic stem cell transplant.
Dr. Hu is an assistant professor in the Atrium Health Department of Hematologic Oncology and Cellular Therapy, Lymphoma Section. She is an attending physician for the Apheresis Program at Atrium Health’s Levine Cancer Institute.
Dr. Hu was named a North Carolina Top Doctor by SouthPark Magazine, was an American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Merit Award recipient and received the MD Anderson Cancer Center Humanitas Award for Compassionate Patient Care.
She received her medical degree at the University of California San Francisco. She completed an internal medicine residency at Vanderbilt University and a hematology/medical oncology fellowship at MD Anderson Cancer Center.
Dr. Hu has conducted research on lymphoma/CLL, stem cell transplant, CAR T-cell therapy, cellular therapies, cutaneous T-cell lymphoma and healthcare disparities. She has multiple publications and is primary investigator on numerous clinical trials.
