“I love to watch adolescents grow and change and become strong, more resilient human beings.”
Thompson is a licensed clinical mental health counselor (LCMHC) who specializes in pediatrics and adolescent medicine. She is the program coordinator of Mental Health Services at Teen Health Connection.
Thompson has worked specifically with adolescents for over 10 years and is trained in trauma focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TFCBT), which is an evidenced-based practice to treat trauma in children and adolescents.
She has an interest in treating adolescents who have experienced trauma, anxiety, depression and family conflict and provides treatment to gender diverse youth and members of the LGBTQ community.
She feels that adolescence is a time of great change and growth that can also come with mental health distress. She has always been drawn to this age group and finds working with them incredibly rewarding.
She received her master’s degree at Winthrop University.
Thompson enjoys watching college football and loves outdoor activities, including running, working out and hiking. She has been an athlete her entire life, so any sport she can play, she wants to play.
