Biography

“Taking care of patients is an honor and a privilege. Earning that privilege comes by providing the best possible care, along with boundless compassion and tireless education. I strive to care for patients the way I would want my family treated when they are in need.”

Dr. Bowen Qiu is trained in orthopedic surgery and hand surgery. He focuses on upper extremity injuries from the shoulders to the fingertips, including muscles, nerves, tendons and joints.

Because of how important the hand is in everyday life and how debilitating loss of hand function is, Dr. Qiu chose to specialize in the wide variety of conditions and pathologies to get patients back to doing things they want and need to do.

Dr. Qiu received his undergraduate degree at Columbia University and his medical degree at the University of Massachusetts. He completed residency at the University of Rochester and a hand fellowship at Wake Forest University.

He enjoys spending his time outside of work with his wife, daughter and 2 corgis. They love taking walks along the greenway. Dr. Qiu also likes gardening and growing vegetables at home. He has picked up fly fishing and looks forward to teaching his daughter.
