Biography
“I do my job because I feel called to serve others and really enjoy helping children with complex medical conditions. I love connecting with others and helping to improve the quality of their lives in any way possible.”
Boatner is a board-certified pediatric nurse practitioner. She specializes in pediatric pulmonology.
She has a clinical focus on tracheostomy (a surgical procedure in which a hole is made in the front of the neck and into the windpipe to allow a patient to breathe) and ventilator-dependent children and has been part of the team that created new trach care protocols and pathways to improve care for these young patients.
Boatner started her career as a pediatric intensive care nurse. She spent some of that time as a travel nurse, working in 5 different states. As a nurse practitioner, she has practiced in brain injury rehab, surgery and hospitalist medicine. She feels her previous positions prepared her for her current role in pediatric pulmonology.
She received her master’s degree in nursing at Florida Atlantic University.
Boatner spends time outside of work with her husband and twin daughters. They love to be outdoors, camping, hiking and stand-up paddleboarding. She also likes yoga, running, reading and checking out new restaurants.
