“Children and teenagers today face new challenges each day. Prioritizing mental health and advocating for them is more important than ever. I am personally motivated and committed to caring in ways that matter and will make a difference.”
Dr. Brittainy Erby is board certified in general psychiatry and child and adolescent psychiatry. She specializes in treating psychiatric disorders in children, teens and young adults in outpatient clinic settings.
Additionally, she teaches residents and fellows. She serves as an advocate in the community and recently began speaking about ways to advocate for and manage children and teenagers who struggle with racial trauma.
During medical school, she combined her passion for children with her interest in child psychiatry and mental health. She chose to specialize in child psychiatry because she knew she could be a strong advocate.
Dr. Erby received her bachelor’s degree in biology at Ohio University and her medical degree at Wright State University. She completed a residency in psychiatry and a residency in child and adolescent psychiatry at the Medical University of South Carolina.
Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her significant other, family and friends. Dr. Erby likes singing and dancing, attending church, reading suspense and fantasy books, attending concerts, watching movies and traveling. She is a fitness fan who likes hiking and obstacle courses.
