Biography
“The women we care for each day are truly remarkable in their strength and resiliency. It is a privilege to be part of their care. There is constant ongoing research to find new therapeutics to hopefully cure gynecologic cancers and also improve the quality of life for our patients, during and following treatments.”
Dr. Lees is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology (OB/GYN) and trained in gynecologic oncology. She specializes in cervical, vulvar, endometrial, ovarian and vaginal cancer, hereditary ovarian and uterine cancers, pelvic masses and dysplasia (abnormal growth of cells).
As a medical student, her favorite rotations were surgical oncology and OB/GYN. When Dr. Lees discovered gynecologic oncology as a subspecialty in residency, she knew it was the perfect fit. She loves being part of her patients’ complete cancer care, from diagnosis to surgery, chemotherapy and monitoring.
She received her bachelor’s degree at Duke University and her medical degree at Loyola University. She completed residency at The University of Alabama and a fellowship at the University of Wisconsin.
Outside of work, Dr. Lees enjoys spending time with her husband, son and black Lab. They enjoy hiking and exploring local cities and towns. Her husband owns a specialty foods company, and they love to cook and eat good food.
