Rains is a board-certified acute care nurse practitioner. She specializes in critical care with a focus on internal and pulmonary (lung) medicine.

She values collaborating with an interdisciplinary team and stays abreast of the latest research to deliver evidence-based care.

Rains received her master’s degree in nursing at Vanderbilt University.

Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Chris. They have a Bernedoodle dog named Norman who is named after Lake Norman, where the couple met. They like traveling, especially out to Montana and Idaho, to visit Rains’ family. She is an avid reader who enjoys a good thriller or murder mystery.
