Dr. Aponte is board certified in psychiatry. She specializes in child and adolescent psychiatry, with a focus on eating disorders.
She received her medical degree at Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Bogotá, Colombia. Dr. Aponte completed residency and a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at the Cleveland Clinic.
Dr. Aponte has experience working in private practice as well as in the inpatient setting at the University of Pittsburgh, where she received an Early Career Physician Excellence Award and was named Fellowship Teacher of the Year.
