Dr. Smoak is board certified in pediatrics. He enjoys forming relationships with families over time and nothing brings him more joy than seeing a young family gain confidence in the care of their children.
His family members, who were pediatricians, encouraged him to pursue medicine. He has a natural interest in science and wanted a career that helped others.
Dr. Smoak received his medical degree at Duke University and completed his residency at Cincinnati Children's Hospital.
He and his wife, Beth, have 5 children, including a daughter with Down Syndrome. He is very involved in church, serving as an elder and choir director and he loves to hike and get out in nature. His family loves movies and music and all of his children play the violin or the piano. They also like to exercise together and have a full-fledged ninja warrior course in their backyard.
