Chelley Kaye Alexander, MD

My goal has always been to treat each patient like family because we all need someone who truly cares and listens to us.

I chose to practice family medicine because it allows me to provide life-long care to patients within the context of their lives, families and communities.

I am board certified in family medicine and have been recognized by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) for quality diabetes care.

I serve as chair of the Department of Family Medicine at Wake Forest University School of Medicine in Charlotte.

My research has been focused on improving health care for underserved populations and on innovative teaching methods for multidisciplinary teams.

I received my bachelor’s degree in neuroscience at Davidson College. I received my medical degree at The University of Alabama at Birmingham, where I also completed residency in family medicine.

I am married with three adult daughters. In my leisure time, I enjoy hiking, whitewater rafting, music of all kinds, raising butterflies and reading murder mysteries.
