Christopher Everett Blunden, MD

I strive to provide patients and caregivers with the confidence to manage their medical conditions with knowledge, confidence and as minimal disruption to their lives as possible.”

Dr. Christopher Blunden is board certified in pediatric endocrinology and general pediatrics. He focuses on treating Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes, obesity, thyroid disorders, growth disorders, delayed and precocious puberty, adrenal gland disorders, pituitary gland disorders and genetic conditions affecting the endocrine system.

He serves as the director of diabetes services at Atrium Health.

Dr. Blunden enjoys the mix of outpatient and inpatient work that allows him to manage conditions with the right medications and empower patients and their families. Because the endocrine system interacts with almost every other body system, Dr. Blunden values the opportunities to coordinate with other generalists and specialists to develop the best comprehensive care plans for patients.

He received his medical degree at Wayne State University. He completed residency in pediatrics at Atrium Health Levine Children's Hospital and a fellowship in pediatric endocrinology at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center.

Dr. Blunden is married with 2 sons. In their leisure time, the family enjoys attending the boys’ hockey and swim events and visiting their extended family in North Carolina and Michigan.
