“I have a strong desire to help others in their times of need. This drives my passion for staying up-to-date with medical trends and research to ensure our patients receive the best care and experience possible.”
Dr. Christopher Drummond is board certified in emergency medicine. He focuses on treating acute conditions in people of all ages in urgent care settings.
He is the assistant specialty medical director for the Urgent Care Division of Atrium Health.
He was drawn to this field of medicine because it requires the provider to have a broad medical knowledge and procedural skills to manage a large variety of conditions and illnesses that affect the whole body. His drive for delivering high-quality, evidence-based care expands beyond his own practice into coaching, mentoring and training others to provide the same experience.
Dr. Drummond received his bachelor’s degree in biology at the University of North Carolina and his medical degree at Wake Forest University School of Medicine. Additionally, he received a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in healthcare administration at the University of Massachusetts. He completed residency in emergency medicine at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.
Outside of work, he likes to spend time with his wife and 3 children. They enjoy traveling and learning about new cultures and history. Dr. Drummond is also a hiker, gardener and sports fan.
