“I do my job because I want to care for patients and support them when they need it most. I have always been drawn to heart failure because I see the difference we can make in the lives of patients and their loved ones. I also appreciate that patients can take an active role in their care through exercise, diet and lifestyle modifications.”

Guess is a board-certified family nurse practitioner and heart failure nurse. She specializes in advanced heart failure and transplant cardiology.

She received her master’s degree in nursing at Duke University.
