Dr. Courtland Blount is board certified in internal medicine. He specializes in cardiovascular disease.
Dr. Blount chose his specialty because he wanted to make a positive impact on treating cardiovascular disease, one of the top causes of death in the United States. His goal is to improve health literacy within the general population so patients can feel more confident and empowered in the clinic and in the hospital.
He received his medical degree at the University of Louisville. Dr. Blount completed residency at The University of Tennessee and a fellowship at Indiana University.
Outside of work, he spends his time encouraging and uplifting medical students and trainees through mentorship and networking. He loves traveling and spending time outdoors with his 2 dogs, his parents and his brothers.
