Biography

I find great satisfaction in empowering parents to make the best health care decisions for their children.”

Dr. Curtis McDonald is board certified in general pediatrics.

He is the recipient of several awards, including the Excellence in Teaching Award from the Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine, the Atrium Health Teal Acorn Award, the Air Force Commendation Medal and the Valya E. Visser Pediatric Humanitarian Award from the Atrium Health Foundation.

Dr. McDonald received his medical degree at East Carolina University Brody School of Medicine and completed residency at Atrium Health Levine Children's Hospital. He was previously an active duty pediatrician with the U.S. Air Force and most recently built a thriving practice in the Pacific Northwest before returning to the Carolinas to be near his grandchildren.

He and his wife have 4 incredible children and 2 amazing grandsons. Dr. McDonald loves being outside, camping, hiking, kayaking and traveling.
