Dr. Dimitriu is board certified in neurology and epilepsy. He specializes in first seizure and events suspicious of seizures, as well as drug-resistant epilepsy.
He received his medical degree at the “Carol Davila” University of Medicine and Pharmacy Bucharest. He completed residency and an epilepsy fellowship at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center.
Dr. Dimitriu has conducted and participated in several clinical trials, including those focusing on novel antiseizure medications and abortive medications (used at home to stop seizures). He has conducted research on status epilepticus medications (those used in the ER to stop prolonged seizures).
