Biography
“I enjoy taking care of the entire family and helping each family member navigate their healthcare problems and concerns one visit at a time.”
Dr. Caviness is board certified in family medicine and specializes in family care, maternity care and agricultural and rural health.
She is the clinical assistant professor of Family Medicine at the Atrium Health Cabarrus Family Medicine Residency program. She is a member affiliate of the NC Agromedicine Institute Board of Partners, a family medicine obstetrics consultant for the NC Maternal Mortality Review Committee and a certified diabetes educator.
Dr. Caviness participated in an agricultural health research project that helped find the gaps in care for female farmers in central North Carolina.
Her goals with each office visit are to listen to her patients, develop a care plan with them and provide excellent evidence-based healthcare.
Dr. Caviness received her medical degree at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and completed her residency at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital.
Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband, son and daughter. She also enjoys gardening in their small garden and orchard, as well as caring for their horse, goats and chickens.
