“Medicine is my gift. I truly believe it is the way the Creator intended for me to serve humanity, bridging medical knowledge with effortless relatability.”
Dr. Denise Thomson is board certified in internal medicine and focuses on patients who are hospitalized.
She chose to practice internal medicine as a way to provide both comprehensive primary and specialty care for adults. She remains fascinated by all aspects of medicine and seeks to alleviate the disproportionate burden of these diseases shouldered by patients with African heritage. Previously, she worked locally at the Department of Veterans Affairs for 5 years before deciding to return to hospital medicine.
Dr. Thomson received her bachelor’s degree in nursing at Valparaiso University and her medical degree at Ross University School of Medicine. She completed residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in nephrology at East Carolina University.
When she isn't caring for patients, she enjoys traveling, reading and listening to audiobooks, exploring new cultures and, most of all, spending time with her family.
