Dr. Suratwala is board certified in pediatric sleep medicine. He specializes in treating sleep disorders in children.
He is the medical director at Atrium Health Levine Children's Sleep Medicine.
Dr. Suratwala is fascinated by the study of sleep and its impact on health. He feels sleep deprivation is a public health epidemic and poor sleep has many undesirable health consequences, including mood disorders, decreased attention span and academic difficulties. Various sleep disorders are common in children and adolescents and are associated with neurocognitive and psychosocial impairments. Therefore, timely identification and appropriate treatment of these sleep disorders is very important.
Dr. Suratwala received his medical degree at B.J. Medical College, completed a residency at Hurley Medical Center and a fellowship at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.
Outside of work, he loves spending time with his wife and 2 children. He enjoys hiking, biking, reading, gardening and going to sporting events.
