Biography
“With each patient I encounter, my hope and goal is to help them understand their disease process and hopefully guide them to better health and a better quality of life. Just taking time to provide information can be empowering. It’s always a blessing to see patients living and thriving after advanced heart failure therapy.”
Holmes is a board-certified family nurse practitioner who specializes in advanced heart failure, including heart transplants and mechanical circulatory support.
She practices as a heart transplant and mechanical circulatory support advanced practice provider (APP) coordinator at Atrium Health Sanger Heart & Vascular Institute Kenilworth. She had been recognized with an Atrium Health Teal Acorn Patients' Choice Award.
Holmes received her master’s degree in nursing at Ball State University.
She has always had a passion for cardiology and was specifically drawn to heart failure while in nursing school. Topics in cardiology came natural to her, and her passion grew when her brother unexpectedly passed away from a cardiac issue while serving as a Marine during Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Outside of work, she loves to travel and spend time with family and friends.
