Douglas S. Chen, MD

I am committed to offering the most practical and effective value-based care with a personal connection with my patients.

With medicine as my calling, I bring passion to caring for people and families of all ages and backgrounds.

I am board certified in family medicine and specialize in primary care for children and adults. I also focus on diabetes, weight management and men’s health.

I am fluent in Mandarin Chinese.

I am the regional medical director for Atrium Health Union Southeast Region and the assistant medical director for family medicine. I am recognized by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) for patient-centered care for diabetes. I have received an American Medical Association (AMA) Physician’s Recognition Award.

I received my medical degree at Georgetown University and completed my residency at Duke University.

I am married with three sons. In my free time, I serve at my church. I enjoy tennis, running, playing guitar and piano. I’m also curating a lifelong, vintage sports card collection.
