Ekta Shah, MD

Dr. Shah is the medical director of Atrium Health Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology. She is board-certified in allergy/immunology and pediatrics. Dr. Shah is particularly interested in helping children with food allergies. Charlotte Magazine has named her a Top Doctor for several years.

Dr. Shah pursued medicine as a career as she loves problem-solving and getting to know people from all walks of life. Having a daughter with food allergies empowers her on a personal level to provide education and compassion to her patients and their families.

Dr. Shah earned her medical degree from the University of Tennessee. She completed her residency and fellowship at Children's Memorial Hospital/Northwestern University in Chicago, IL.

Married with two daughters, she enjoys spending time with family and friends. She also likes reading (especially historical fiction and nonfiction books about current events), trying new recipes, and traveling.
