Biography

“I help evaluate, diagnose, treat, manage and counsel patients with rare disorders. I want every child and family to know that I care about them, and my hope is that at the end of each visit, I have answered their concerns and helped them understand their diagnosis and treatment plan.”

Dr. Elizabeth Baker is board certified in pediatrics, medical genetics and genomics and clinical biochemical genetics. She focuses on cardiovascular genetics, metabolic disorders and congenital anomalies.

Throughout her career, she has been fascinated to learn the cause(s) of disorders and to use this knowledge through medical advancements to significantly improve the quality of life in patients with rare disorders.

Dr. Baker received her medical degree at the Medical University of South Carolina and completed residency in pediatrics at Atrium Health Levine Children’s Hospital. She completed fellowships in medical genetics and genomics and clinical biochemical genetics at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center.

Her research focuses on cardiovascular genetics of patients with congenital heart defects.

Away from work, she enjoys being outside with her family and playing and watching sports. They love water skiing, hiking, snow skiing, swimming and snorkeling. Her favorite sports teams are the Atlanta Falcons and Liverpool FC. Dr. Baker enjoys watching Formula 1 racing, and her favorite drivers are Lando Norris and Daniel Ricciardo.
